With Phase 4 in effect, we re-opened on July 15, 2020, with shortened hours and updated safety protocols in place. Please check our website and Facebook page for more information.
While Save-A-Pet has always had strategically placed hand sanitizers around our facility, we have increased this number significantly. All visitors, staff, and volunteers are encouraged to wash their hands or sanitize between touching animals to prevent the spread of any illness. We have also placed informational flyers regarding proper hand washing and hygiene etiquette, social distancing, and have provided boxes of facial tissues around the facility. Please do not take any of these items home with you despite the recent shortages.
This being said, the news about this virus is being updated constantly so please be sure you are keeping yourself informed and taking necessary precautions of your own. For instance:
- If you have symptoms of acute respiratory illness, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc. please stay home and follow the precautions of the local health department.
- Practice good hand hygiene, including washing and sanitizing your hands.
- Use good cough and sneezing etiquette.
- Stay informed! Visit https://www.who.int/, https://www.cdc.gov/, and http://www.dph.illinois.gov/ for updates.
If you feel that you may have contracted COVID-19, do not come into Save-A-Pet. You will need to contact the state and local health departments who will then direct you towards next steps.
