Found in pretty rough shape, matted and with injured eyes, Save-A-Pet was there for me. As soon as I got there, I knew I didn’t have to worry about anything. I spent some time in a loving foster home and my foster mom wrote a detailed account of how my stay with her was. Though I have very limited vision (I lost one eye), I can find my way around pretty easily. I do not like cats or small animals, but mellow dogs are kind of okay. At the adoption center, I shared a room with another little dog for a while and we did fine together. I pretty much ignored him. My foster mom said I was very sweet, rode nicely in the car and just adored being held. I enjoy being brushed and even smile. The groomer also said that I was a complete sweetheart during bathing, shaving and nails clipping. I then got adopted and I was very loving and affectionate, waiting to get the okay to eat my food. I would even drop my toys when asked. It took me a little while to get comfortable and, once I was, I even enjoyed belly rubs. It did take me a while to warm up to new people in a home environment, probably because I can’t see and I was quite fearful of some men. So I need a home with not too many visitors or where I can have a special room to relax in while people are visiting. I did well with the dog walker that came during the day; I just need a little extra time to get to know new people.Update: Guess what, some may have thought I was not good with other dogs but let me tell you something, I am actually doing pretty well in some of the doggie play groups here. We are just having fun like kids would at recess. (Of course, this still means that I may not like every single dog but do you like every single person?) So if you have a dog, why don’t you bring him in so we can meet and see how we may do together.
